This is photo three, 1 just off, 2 bouncing of a bulge then this followed by the first ice screw popping. He fell between 10-15 metres but being an ex-rugby player bounced rather well!

Admirable sharpness..under the circumstances! ;-) Pic of the week?
dek - 18/Feb/07
I did feel pleased and relieved to get it as I had the camera on it's manual settings. Fine on the old FE2 but the new dig is still a bit of info overload.
Toby_W - 18/Feb/07
We want to see the other two! And a full accident report! :-)
TobyA - 18/Feb/07

Henry L Buckle - 25/Feb/07
Check how insignificantly thin that rope suddenly looks - EEEK!
feepole - 25/Feb/07
And as my friend pointed out, how his crampon is whipping past them!
Toby_W - 25/Feb/07

Toby_W - 26/Feb/07

nikinko - 26/Feb/07
Life imitating 'Art'? knew it was familiar, Vertical Limit poster!
dek - 26/Feb/07
You have to admire the resiliance of the climbing fraternity, whilst lesser men (and women) would scream or cover their eyes, the good old climber reaches for his camera! great shot.
Fidman - 27/Feb/07
This is were UKC population stop using screws and dig for a nut on there next route.
IanJackson - 27/Feb/07
I have the full set of these sitting on my desk.

I've also promised Mick a proper write up with the rest of the photos so watch this space.
Toby_W - 11/Mar/07
That's one freaky pic. I can't quite make out where his axes are. Has he still got hold of them? Looks like there might be one behind his head. Seriously scary action pic, though. Well done!
Steve Parker - 11/Mar/07
Awesome! Cheers, mate!
I'm glad you made it back in one piece... and smiling, too!

out of interest, how well planted were the axes? if you'd been leashed do you think it would have held you?

ice climbers don't get it? ... i am not dumb enough to ever do ice climbing
Marc Germani - 02/Mar/13
Whilst many people aren't 'dumb' enough to pass judgement on something they've never tried.
CurlyStevo - 10/Jul/13
Snapping the photo ,then who was holding the rope?
