Newsflash 9a+ Redpoint and 8b+ Onsight by Michaela Kiersch
US climber Michaela Kiersch has redpointed Victima Perfecta 9a+ at Margalef, Catalunya. She also onsighted Crimptonite 8b+ at Oliana, her hardest onsight to date, planetmountain.com reports.
In this week's Friday Night Video, we jump back to November 2016 when Michaela Kiersch became the first woman to climb The Golden Ticket, a testpiece 5.14c/8c+ in the Red River Gorge, Kentucky. Michaela's success revolved around sticking a wild dyno that most taller climbers don't have to use. After the dyno comes the typical "crux" of the route, a v10 boulder problem. This short film documents Michaela's impressive achievement and the journey it took to pull it off.
