Just wondering what ground conditions are like in the Lakes at the moment? Hoping to do the Pillar ridge walk via the Sca Fell range next Saurday (16th March)...
Whereabouts is the snow line sitting at the moment?
Although be aware there were still some isolated patches of very hard snow at the start of this week - there were a number of accidents with people taking long slides down it. Might well have changed by next weekend, though.

We've had a few flurries all day in the western lakes. Looks to be a fair drop over Caldbeck, Skiddaw is white to below Ullock Pike, and Grasmoor/Hopegill head and the surrounding peaks look very white as well. It's baltic at the moment with an icy NE wind, so should hang around if conditions don't change too much.
