I've just been through the same exercise, buying a few different options and then sending a few back. My old RAB microlight was too small and I'm going to Indian Creek next month, so wanted something for the cold / hopefully dry weather.
My favourite (price no object) was the Arcteryx Cerium Hybrid. I like design and I think the idea behind it is cool. The item felt really well-executed and thoughtful. But it is quite thin and so is probably perfect only for doing something hardcore alpine where every gram matters. While I like to occasionally imagine I'll get a trip of that nature in the diary, the reality is it was probably too specialised given the price (£££) and the low probability of doing that sort of stuff. Basically would have been a vanity acquisition.
In the end I went for a plain RAB Microlight. Honorable mention for the RAB Mythic Alpine which was lighter and more 'alpine' than the Microlight, but felt it would tear easily.
I also tried a patagonia down sweater option but it felt thicker and heavier than the microlight. Plus the aesthetic was a little bit "centerist dad" on the way to a fancy coffee shop. Which probably accurately describes me, hence the concern...
(Facewest has offers on them all and they seem nice guys)
