Due to the Bronze age caves, rebolting is no longer permitted.
Sector Solita has 15 year old expansion bolts with spinning hangers, and are likely unsafe to climb
The following routes on Sector Baix have had the bolts removed;
Pierre no doy una, Osama and No. 3
These are left on the logbook for previous ascents and people with trad gear
Other crags on the island are being rebolted, it is a big project with a small team of local climbers.

Head for Cales Coves; there are signs from the main road. There is a car park at the end of the track where there is a barrier. It is not possible to camp close to the crag.
Beautiful secluded bay with ancient cave homes which some of the routes go around. 10-15 minuet walk in from end of a track with parking. Easy to find from main road as nicely signposted. Looked to have the largest selection of easier grades on the island in the guidebook and didn't disappoint. Another 8 to 10 routes around the corner from the three showing which are more shaded. I found these sport routes whilst on holiday this year, without my climbing gear :(
I found 3 or 4 routes graded 4-4+. There were also 3 or 4 routes graded 5-6a+. All the climbs I found were on the right hand wall looking out from the end of the approach track.
each climb has a metal plaque at the bottom showing the name and grade. looks like good climbing.
maybe next year... Adam Perrett - 29/Sep/10 |
