An amazing sandstone crag stretching for some 4 miles along the Waterberg escarpment. Most routes are several pitches and vary in length from about 50m up to several hundred. There is ample camping space either right at the bottom in the pasture below (where vehicles are left), or space to bivvy under an overhang (or pitch a couple of tents) just to the right (looking up) of Groothoek Gully. There is usually (but not always) water available at the bottom of Groothoek Gully.
The Mountain Club of South Africa partially owns the land at Krantzberg and access is limited to members and thier guests. It is necessary to obtain a key to the gate before visiting.
There are no comments from visitors to this crag. |
