summit pinnacle Sudgrat © Nadir khan
A premier alpine rock destination featuring the classic Salbit south and west ridges, plus many other routes accessible from the Salbithütte.
The Salbithütte is reached with 900m ascent from the carpark at Ulmi in the Göeschenertal, or with a less steep 1000m ascent from the train station at Göschenen.
A short HD video of a visit in August 2015 to the premier alpine rock destination of the Salbitschijen 2981m, near Gschenen in Central Switzerland to climb the super-classic 16 pitch 550M South Ridge. The Sudgrat is often described as one of the best and most beautiful climbs of its type and grade in the whole of the Alps. Anyway here is a short HD video featuring the flora + fauna, time lapses, views of the outrageous Westgrat, big towers, super-exposed ridges + giddyfying drops, culminating in the photogenic Gipfelnadel summit pinnacle! :-)
