This delightful little spot is not quite as secret as the name suggests, although it is still relatively quiet since the only people who come here are boulderers. The main problems are superb and steep above good landings. The traverse is a classic of its type and there is plenty to keep you busy for a few afternoons.
Park in the Surprise View parking on the A6187 Fox House to Hathersage Road. Walk back towards the Fox House, to a stile on the left, just past an old milepost on the far side of the road. Cross the stile and walk straight up into the small woods. Keep on the main track until the boulders become visible up on your left.
