Some Great hand and fist jams, great for everyone from beginners to advanced, from nice jugs to stupidly small crimps, some thing for everyones needs, nice rural setting away from the road with excellent views. I have just found this crag so is unknown to anyone yet ( i think), but i believe it could be one of Yorkshires biggest secrets.
02/06/2011 - Would be an excellent spot but local farms etc have started filling the area with horse poo. Doesn't smell but most of the climbs can not be done now.
Find Northowram quarry which is on Howes Lane, Follow the road down until you see a wooden bench on the right hand side, follow the path along the side of the bench and past the big wall, at the fork in the path take the left hand side and keep on until the path ends and dips down next to the outcrop, behold the great gritstone of Shibden.
There's a wall of gritstone there however in my opinion it's not worth travelling to. It's only 3 metres high and maybe 7 metres across. With so many great crags in the area I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to try this one EllaF - 16/Apr/17 |
