Climbs 9
Rocktype Schist
Altitude 266m a.s.l
Limited climbing and dry tooling routes in the quarry but easily accessible from Aviemore, even by bike. There are a couple of bolted climbs on the cleaner expanses of rock, with some newer dry tooling lines on the left hand side of the quarry.
Left Hand Wall
The routes on the "Left Wall" have been bolted more recently with glue in bolts as dry tooling routes. The 3 routes on the slab, are climbable mainly on drilled hooks and can be difficult to see, this should improve as the crag gets more traffic so bare this in mind when "on-sighting" routes.
Right Hand Wall
The routes that can be found on the "Right Wall" would have been bolted 20+? ago so should be treated with caution (missing hangers, corrosion etc) there are trees/anchors at the top at the top for TR routes. please note that routes on this wall have been graded for both sport climbing and also giving a DT grade. "Chinese Whispers" is the exception to this so please dont dry tool.
Turn off the A9 at signpost for Lynwilg. After a couple of hundred metres, park at gate on the right without obstructing access. Go through the gate and walk along the old road running parallel to the A9, which leads to the quarry in 5 minutes.
