The houses of the picturesque village of Crni Kal are clustered at the foot of the steep rocky barrier of the Karst edge that stretches far into the Istria. The sunny limestone walls offer well-protected routes in a sheltered position with lovely views over the Gulf of Trieste and the rolling hillsides of the Slovenian Istria.
The road to the crag through the narrow streets of the village is signposted. At the first hairpin bend after houses you'll find the first parking area. A little further up the road is the second, larger car park, which has portaloos but no shade.
Ah the thrum of the traffic speeding across the viaduct down below made me think I was back at Taffs Well Main next to the A470!
Some nice climbs here but expect a fair amount of polish and some stiff grading especially on anything that's slabby. Giles Davis - 23/Oct/16 |
