Rocktype Limestone
Altitude 1052m a.s.l
A river canyon just below Saint Etienne en Devoluy. Certain shade in hot summers!
There are two VF routes here; or rather you can escape after the easier introductory route or continue across the steeper and more exciting extension.
Just before St Etienne there is ample parking and a toilet at the Pont de Gliers.
One start goes directly down from the parking by descending the bridge, across the river is a more bucolic approach. Both starts join after a suspension bridge. Half way along the gorge there is an escape route before you enter the canyon proper.
Return by walking back down the road - good view back into the canyon!
