Amazing series of volcanic towers, set on a high plateau far removed from the mayhem of the tourist resorts. Also provides a useful retreat if the calima (sand-laden winds) blow in from the sahara.
Routes facing in all directions, so you can follow or escape the sun, depending upon the season
Limited parking is available around the restaurant/hotel Parador (28.223401, -16.628252). From there take the path at the end of the parking area towards the volcanic towers on the south-east. When the path reaches a 4x4 dirt road, turn left and grab another faint path behind the ranger's hut.
Parking can be very limited during tourist peak hours and seasons.
Stick to the paths to avoid erosion on protected local flora and fauna, and leave no trace.
03/04/24 - 3 of us toproping on the lower crag were approached by 2 police officers who advised that we needed some sort of permit to climb on the crag. Unsure what as English/spanish communication wasn't great. We were told to leave the crag. It's possible no permit is needed. The police were out with a film crew and had nothing to do. Further info definitely required from locals.
