This is a sizeable, boulder-filled bay, complete with a non-tidal stack at its centre, 'The Hobbyhorse'. The bay is located 300m east of the Linney Head lookout station.
Approach from Gupton Gate on the track marked by white posts in 65 mins, or 70 mins from Stack Rocks.
The crag is in Range West, an Army live-firing range. Briefed climbers (with a valid permit) can access the crag at weekends & Bank Holidays, and at other “posted” times when live firing it not taking place and the range is safe. Night firing normally occurs on Tuesday & Thursday but may also alternate to Monday & Wednesday.
The permanent restriction just covers one route - 'Dawn Chorus'.
Dates: 1 January to 31 December
Reason: Heritage
There is a permanent restriction on 'Dawn Chorus' on the east side of the bay.
Please do not climb if the seal pups are present in the bay. This is very likely from August to November
