The Hohburger Berge are home to some of the most beautiful routes in central Germany. Slabs up to 50m, arêtes that shoot to the sky, solid rock, many bolts and even some cracks are just some of the features that make this area so famous.
The nice yellow-black porphyr and many quarried lakes suitable for swimming attract climbers, mainly in the summertime. At the base of most of the cliffs are nice meadows for the whole family.
The quarries are on private land, but members of IG-Klettern are allowed to climb there although no one checks for membership.
