Bouldering at the Col Des Montets © Andy Can
A selection of boulders and routes on the Vallorcine side of the Col des Montets.
Park just after the top of the pass on the right (if driving from Chamonix).
Obvious danger of avalanche and road closure during the winter.
Not sure if anyone at UKC has the Font or V grades for this area, but the 'sport' grades that were bizarrely used for this area are incorrect and obviously quite out of date. For example the Basse Tension is given F7c but is actually font 7B+, quite a difference. The local bouldering guide has more modern bouldering grades, though was put together without much thought for the grading, first ascentionists etc., so much of the info. is out of whack. Still, better than using sport grades. going backwards - 29/Aug/12 |
