The most important climbing destination is Aktienbruch. An old porphyr quarry with lots of sport routes with trad-style climbing. All bolts and anchor rings are in good conditon, but the bolt spacings vary from gym to X. Some of the harder routes are chipped.
The place is very crowded on weekends because it's near to Berlin (about 2h by car). The quarry next to the Aktienbruch is still in use. Weekdays there might be occasional blasting. So if you hear sirens...
The quarry is private land, but members of IG-Klettern or any of the German Alpin Societies (DAV) are allowed to climb there. There is parking outside the quarry entrance. The quarry is just outside Löbejün, about 20km north of Halle (about 1h cycle). The nearest train station is Nauendorf, about 3km away, with regular trains to Halle.
