A really nice little crag.
Head for the Roman Army museum just off the Military Road (B6318. Drive past the museum and after about a mile the crag appears just off teh road on yhe right. ASK AT THE FARM and park sensibly.
Above it says "ask at the farm" i know the farmer and hes quite happy for people to climb here just be sensible about numbers and where you park. and he asks that you take care. so you dont have to ask at the farm dcclimb - 13/May/10 |

Despite the huge roofs, all of the routes except one are below VS, and were climbed one day in 1976 by an Eden Valley MC raiding party
Apparently only one route has been added since 1976. None have tackled the challenges posed by the roofs.
The rock is excellent quality sandstone, and has nice grassy landings for bouldering.
Even though it's virtually a roadside crag, it was discovered by accident when I had to visit a farm some way further along the road. :o)
Even though it's in Northumberland, not far from the Roman Wall, it had been missed by Northumbrian climbers who were a little peeved when it appeared in the original North of England Guide.
Go there on a warm evening and enjoy the sunset!
