We are actively seeking a visionary leader to join us as our next CEO, leading the BMC - the National Representative body within England and Wales and the recognised National Governing body for competition climbing.
As we traverse the ever-evolving funding landscape, we are looking for a candidate to demonstrate strength and success in delivering financial sustainability and have the experience and capability of navigating and generating a solid revenue base through relationship building and negotiating skills
The ideal candidate must have previous experience, or demonstrate an understanding of, the requirements of leading a membership-based representative body and a national governing body and be equipped to effectively handle the governance complexities of both
Our future CEO will have strong interpersonal skills combined with high levels of financial acumen and the ability to lead a highly skilled team across diverse activities, fostering growth in engagement across our committed and passionate workforce and wider community, emphasising inclusivity and diversity as integral components of their leadership style
As the BMC aims to reach new peaks into the future, we believe this combination of qualities will be key to summit our vision and to create a better future for climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers
This is an incredibly special and significant role. As an organisation moving forwards at pace, it is challenging but the rewards are immense and, in many ways, can be considered a privilege to lead such a passionate community.
