Senior Climbing Coach - Chatham Jobs

Chimera Climbing is looking for an experienced climbing coach who is passionate about providing quality teaching to climbers of all ages. This role involves teaching our kids' clubs, birthday parties, private sessions and coaching our competition squad, who compete at a country-wide level. We at Chimera pride ourselves on giving the best possible teaching experience for each climber and personalising our coaching to the needs of our team, and we expect the same from all of our staff.

Providing high-level teaching to our competition squad is the focus of this role so a minimum of 6 months of coaching experience is required to apply. This role is for a zero-hour contract with the possibility of contract renegotiation to a 30-hour contract after a trial period.

To apply for this role, you must have: 

  • At least two years climbing experience. 
  • The ability to both work as a team member as well as lead your own sessions.
  • A good understanding of climbing techniques and the ability to explain them to others.
  • Be approachable to all climbers and visitors.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • The delivery of climbing instruction to a variety of age groups and session types 
  • Working both on the mats teaching and on reception as centre staff
  • Being responsible for the health, safety, and well-being of all climbers
  • Enforcing Centre rules

Desirable qualification:

  • CWI/RCI qualified
  • Development coach
  • Foundation coach
