BD Storm 500R and similar

I was interested in the BD Storm 500R, but read that the battery is permanently encased and can't be removed, which presumably limits the life of the torch to that of the battery. Seems a bit of a negative - is that usual for rechargable torches these days?

The Petzl Core battery can be removed/replaced. With the Actk Core which is my main headtorch you can fit another Core battery if the primary one starts to run low and can't be recharged, or use readily available aaa batteries.
