A jumble of boulders scattered above the railway line above Pulpit Rock. Problems require traffic and further gardening and not all are currently documented. Please respect cleaned projects, clean your own stuff, brush up the existing problems and Glasgow will have a great little circuit of low to mid grade blocs plus a few hard -uns too!
Wellies are essential for the approach!
After the Ardvorlich B&B the A82 sweeps round a few bends before pulpit rock. Park in the first major lay-by on the south bound side of the road and walk back south about 50m to a rough vehicle track that heads of uphill toward the pylons on the opposite side of the railway line. Follow this up to and underneath the railway (VERY BOGGY) and then continue to follow the track as it fades all the way to the last pylon on a small plateau from where a deer track leads round to the boulders which will come into view from just after the last pylon.
An approach from Pulpit rock direct is also possible although parking is no longer possible there.
Note: as of 15/4/21, a goose has nested beside the tree stump/pylon stump on the faint path that makes its way towards the Mullet block.Try to give the nest/stump a wide berth so as not to harry the bird away from her eggs.
Bring Wellies
Pine marten spotted near the boulders (May 2021), and droppings / signs of use found around upper blocks in the woods. Please avoid the upper part of the venue between May and August to prevent disturbance to any young which may be present during this period (when animals are particularly sensitive). Please be cautious and do not try to approach/pester any you are lucky enough to see.
Cheers,
