Side Pike from Stickle Ghyll, Langdale © robhowell
A quality single pitch lakes crag which deserves more attention. Great views of the Langdale pikes and short approach.
Park below the crag in the layby on the Blea Tarn road. Short steep approach 15 minutes.
We climbed here in May after several weeks of very dry weather and it was great climbing, but still very mossy and lichenous, especially at the top where the routes are both shabby and hard to protect. In wet weather I imagine it’s like an ice rink, so pick your moment carefully. charliesdad - 10/Nov/18 |

In early Sept 14 this crag was very lichenous and bizarrely incredibly windy on the routes further up the col. Could be a great place and plan to return early spring to see if lichen etc has gone. 15 min walk in from single car space near cattle grid about 1km past Blea Tarn carpark. eldre070 - 27/Aug/14 |
