In partnership with outdoor retailer Ellis Brigham, and with support from product care specialists Grangers, the GORE-TEX brand is bringing its product care and repair service back to the UK at the end of the month.

Calling at Ellis Brigham Aviemore (30 September) and Ellis Brigham Fort William (1 October), the GORE-TEX brand team will be giving customers the wash and care know-how they need to keep their gear in service for longer, helping them save money and reduce the environmental footprint of their kit.
GORE-TEX brand’s authorised repair centre, Scottish Mountain Gear, will also be supporting the events across both dates to make repairs to GORE-TEX garments. The limited repair slots – all free of charge – can be booked in advance, with repairs including:
● Seam repairs on damaged garments, using seam tape ● Simple patching on most 2- and 3-layer GORE-TEX garments ● Replacement of zip slides and Velcro on cuffs and main zip flaps
Showing customers how to use proper wash, care and repair methods to keep their gear in play is a money-saver for customers, and another part of the GORE-TEX brand’s efforts to be more sustainable.
There are 70 wash-and-proof or repair slots available on both UK dates of the GORE-TEX GEAR TOUR. Only one garment can be repaired per person, and customers are asked to wash products for repair in advance.
Scottish Mountain Gear will make the final decision on whether a repair is possible, and any defects in addition to those listed will be handled in consultation with the on-site repair team, depending on the time and materials available.
