To anyone who, like me, enjoys SS's story-telling, may I recommend Grant Farquhar's fine book A' Chreag Dhearg, which contains much more of Simon Stewart's excellent prose.
Whilst not quite as poetic as SS, Paul Sagar has some rather excellent logbook entries, personal favourites being, The plum, astral stroll and king bee crack.
Some gems there. That said, there is a difference between an amusing or simply verbose description and a true work of art, which is well written and keeps you captivated till the end. This is what puts the author Andy chanced upon into a whole new league. Andy’s own climbing blogs are well worth a read as well.
