This wall has been closed. The receptionist said it was due to a lack of interest although from comments here it seems that they didn't exactly encourage climbers.
This is not a bad wall in its construction. It may not be the prettiest and most expansive but it has everything most of us need to do some winter training or practice new techniques. You will need your own insurance (comes free when you join BMC) and your own equipment, which can range from just a pair of shoes to the full monty whatever your into. The real drawback is availability, they're not overly enthusiastic about you using it and times are very limited and difficult to get a regular routine. I'm currently complaining to the council to have this facility more accessable and would appreciate some more voices to this cause.
Had a look at this wall last night, I wouldn't suggest waisting your time going (unless desperate). Very very basic, concrete boxs inset to wall and only available for use 'sometimes' between 9:15pm and 10pm when aerobics classes aren't using the room. Need your own insurance and gear, can't climb without a helmet.

i always thought this wall had become non existant. i have however, never tried ot find out if it is open or not but i will check in about 2 weeks. if it is still used this willbe vaery cool as my school is about 25m from its front door (yay).
from memory, the wall is not great. it is basically a sports room (you get the size - about the size of a llarge hall at your local leisure centre) witht he walls set up with many cracks and a few 'lumps'. it is bolted with no way to start from a top rope. there are many routes but all probably feel the same, you are basically climbing up a verticle wall with some cracks in it/.
