Propane Buttress, Nar Hill © olliemartin

Crag features

A result of a google earth find, Nar Hill is a small bouldering venue ideal for the intrepid Yorkshire grit adventurer. Situated above the winding river Washburn on the barden moor the crag offers a mix of pleasant climbs in an idilic location.

Approach notes

Park at the gravel layby by the bridge on Hoodstorth Lane (54.033036, -1.799216). Cross the bridge and then follow faint tracks along through the wood and by the river. Wellies are recommended as the route is often boggy, 45 minutes.

Alternatively a shorter approach can be made from Redlish Road (54.055058, -1.805902) but safe parking spots on the road are scarce so do so at your own risk (beware of the well hidden ditches on the verge). 20 Minutes.

No Access Issues

The crag and approach is on open access land but game shooting appears to happen in the area so do be aware of that.
