The quarry has lots of bouldering potential in the surounding area. Don't expect lots of gear placements on the routes that are in this quarry, and a small slection of the routes are done by soloing so don't forget the crash mat
No access restrictions are in place, the quarry is a good 20 minute walk for the White house pub car park.
In April 2021, bolts appeared in the quarry and have since been removed. Bolts are NOT welcome and should only ever placed in line with local agreements:
March 2022, bolts were again placed at the top of the quarry. These looked poorly placed and possibly outright dangerous. Again removed by local activists.
Someone has decided to add three bolts to the top of the slabs. Recent enough that the detritus from drilling is still there. greg_may_ - 17/Apr/21 |

Been to Summit Quarry in the valley and though we'd come here. The climbing is fantastic but very bold, recommend bringing a pad and a selection of micro cams (lots) and small wires. The slabby area is very grippy with some superb climbing while the steep area's are just as good. The upper part Z-crack is a little dirty so i recommend a clean before you attempt it in future. Definitly need to come again and well worth a visit, dries rapidly too. joe.91 - 09/Sep/10 |
