The obvious ice planed slab on the south side of Intake Ridge. The slab provides enjoyable climbs up to 32m on clean, solid rock with good friction. Some of the routes can be slightly lacking in protection, however they make up for this with plenty of positive holds.
From Keswick, take the Borrowdale Road (B5289). Half a mile past the Chapel House Farm campsite, turn left down a pot-holed track to Thorneythwaite Farm. Parking is available on the grassy area next to the river for £3 in the honesty box. GPS coordinates: 54.511128, -3.160624
From the parking walk back along the main road towards Keswick and take the public footpath. Follow this across the beck and past the old mill. Continue past until past the intake wall and then head steeply up the fell. The area around the crag is loose scree so take care.
The climbs are listed from left to right.
Routes now ordered from left to right. I think they were right to left before so that the "yan, tan, tethera..." in the route names was in order.
Grades updated in line with the 2015 selective guide. Routes not featured may be due an upgrade, so be careful if it is at your limit. LGraham - 31/Aug/15 |
