The upper working has a steep wall and a very nice reasonably steep slab. There's more potential up the big leaning wall too and an interesting chain and mineshafts. A bit of a trek up, but worth it just to do Zone of Totality.
Minllyn Quarry is located near the village of Dinas Mawddwy in Mid-Wales. Park in the laybay by the war memorial at the north end of the village, opposite the Buckley Arms. Go south for 50m, then follow the gravel track into the woods, turning right at the T junction after the houses. After a few minutes, take the switchback up left through the forest. At the first bend take the smaller track on the left which leads up the workings. Go through the gate and follow the incline upt to the top of the site.

although the climbs are bolted it is recomended to take some trad kit with you as there are large gaps at the start and finish of the climbs with no pretection. bennyrock - 13/Mar/10 |
